Adopt a Family for Christmas

Your family, Sunday School class, Bible Study group or entire church has an opportunity to reach out to refugees this holiday season and bless one family at a time.

Most refugees who come to the United States can be here for 5 years or more before they are invited into an American home or have any American friends.  Let’s change that this holiday!

Gather your family or your friends and Adopt a Family for Christmas!  It doesn’t take a lot of your time, and it really makes a beautiful, lasting memory for one refugee family.

STEP 1: Members from your group/family go with a TRM volunteer to visit a refugee family who has arrived in the past year.

STEP 2: Your group/family invites your refugee family to their home for a meal or party before Christmas and blesses them with some practical and fun gifts.

STEP 3: Call them or visit them to wish them a Happy New Year and continue to pray for them as they build their new lives in America!

Sign-up sheets will be made available at some key churches, or you can contact Karl and Emily Spiessbach to learn more about how your church can make an impact for one refugee family this Christmas.
